Trips Abroad

Varustaa is taking a ‘hands on approach’ to equipping non-profits, by traveling abroad to serve and provide assistance in training leaders, staff and volunteers. We are excited to be planning our tenth such trip, to take place summer 2012 in Honduras.

What will we do?

We will be volunteering with Open Door Ministries, a non-profit organization who rescues very young girls, which have become pregnant as a result of rape and would otherwise continue to live a life of abuse, incest and neglect. In addition to the girls home they have also started an orphanage and a feeding station, which provides hot meals for 75 children per day. We have a three-month window this summer to serve and support their operations and facilitate other short-term teams.

The Varustaa website will soon be under development and will position itself to become the premier portal for non-profit organizations and charitable causes.

Organizations - Aid and Support

The website will provide a platform for non-profit organizations to discuss their missions, needs, and opportunities with prospective volunteers and corporate sponsors who are ready to get involved. There will also be the ability for organizations to search for member volunteers and corporate partners with the capabilities to meet their current needs.

Volunteers - Talents and Manpower

Volunteers will be able to search our database of local and foreign organizations, which offer aid to people or geographic areas, which match their interests. Volunteers will also be able to register and post their talents and availability, so that organizations can search for volunteers, which have a skill set matching their needs.

Corporate Partners - Goods and Services

Our corporate partners will utilize the web site by searching for organizations to which they would like to donate or to post services, which they will provide for non-profit organizations.
